Our social committee

Chaucer has a very active social committee, which organises a wide range of social events  throughout the year, including quiz nights, pool tournaments and a table tennis night.

Our committee organises an event each month, and hosts an annual summer day, where in the past, we have held an It's-A-Knockout competition, dragon boat racing and a treasure hunt around London.

Chaucer Foundation

Our CSR Team is responsible for coordinating fundraising activities, volunteering opportunities and corporate donations, and helping us to manage our Charity of the Year, currently The Prince’s Trust, and our Charity of the Quarter (chosen by staff).

We are keen to support our employees in their own personal fundraising activities.

We regularly hold breakfast clubs, cake sales and dress down days to raise money for charity – all of which are very popular with Chaucer employees.

All employees can donate two days a year to a charity of their choice. Our teams have helped clear gardens, clean beaches, helped out at Scout Camps and have run CV workshops.

We are delighted to have been voted the ‘Top Company for Graduates to work for’ in the /accountancy and Insurance category, for the past four years by The Job Crowd. We were also extremely proud to have won the ‘Best Support’ Award in the smaller employer category for 2016/2017

The Job Crowd is the UK’s leading graduate job review website which identifies the top graduate employers from over 6,000 reviews submitted by graduates in over 300 companies. The rankings are unique because they are entirely based on employee feedback.

Our programmes were recognised for offering a series of specialist placements across the business, which aims to develop graduate expertise in every area of underwriting, including risk selection, pricing and placement, account management and reinsurance.
